Kai Arrives

Kai got into Seattle today at around Noon. Chris, Lee and I were very excited for his arrival. Henry was HORRIFIED.

For reasons, we don’t all know (though I suspect Kai does), Henry hates Kai with a deep passion. I suspect it stems from the time he babysat our cats while we visited Ken and Joan in Florida. When we came back, we realized instead of throwing away the food the cats hadn’t eaten, he instead piled new food on top of the old food, creating a rotten cat food tower.

I hate Uncle Kai! I hate Uncle Kai!

Henry ran when he saw Kai and hid under the couch. But he forgot his animosity when Kai fed them.

I LOVE Uncle Kai! I LOVE Uncle Kai!

We spent a few hours walking around by the harbor and then went through the market. Kai got a kick out of all the local food stalls. The people selling in the market stalls have to grow what they sell, so food ends up being very seasonal.

Bring hand sanitizer! Bring hand sanitizer!

Pike Place is famous for its fish, there are a number of fish stalls to choose from. Fish, fish everywhere.

We bought some flowers, because it is impossible to walk by all the flower stalls with their low, low prices and not covet the bouquets. Ten dollars got us this one.

Fancy! Fancy!

I should take another picture of that bouquet, it’s hard to see the colors. Speaking of color –

We also wandered around Post Alley, an alley near the market that has little restaurants and stores, including one that the douchey guy from GHOST ADVENTURES stayed overnight during a ghost hunt.

Ghost Adventures were here?!? Ghost Adventures were here?!?

For dinner we went to RN74, the French deconstruction restaurant Chris and I went to a few weeks back. We knew Kai would love it.

Three Thumbs Up! Three Thumbs Up!

Tomorrow we’re planning on going to the aquarium and the science museum, because we are apparently 7. The aquarium has otters, so we are very excited.
